Malaysia’s Ministry of Finance (MoF) has stated that 200 new buses will be allocated to Rapid Penang in a phased manner over the next two years. Rapid Penang is operated by Rapid Bus Sendirian Berhad, a subsidiary of Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad that is owned by the MoF. Eighty of these buses are expected to start plying the routes in Penang by the fourth quarter of 2013, with the remainder to be introduced in 2014.
