The South Korea Electric Power Corporation and Japan-based Murabeni Corporation have secured the contract to develop the 1,200 MW Nghi Son 2 thermal power plant in the northern province of Thanh Hoa. The coal-based power plant is expected to be commissioned by 2018. The project that is estimated to cost 47.99 trillion dong is likely to be financed through Korea Eximbank and JICA. The contractor for the project will be Korea’s Doosan Heavy Industries Construction. The project that has been awarded on a BOT basis has a concession period of 25 years.

3,627 billion dong road construction work begins in Central Vietnam

Construction work on the 3,627 billion dong road that connects Thanh Hoa province’s Nghi Son District and Nghe An province’s Cau Giat town in Central Vietnam has begun. The scope of the work involves the construction of 34 km with four lanes. The Civil Engineering Construction Corporation 4 and Corporation 319 have obtained financing from the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam for the project that is being implemented on a BOT basis.
