Cirebon Electric Power, partly owned by Japanese and South Korean conglomerates, plans to start the construction of its second power plant that will provide an additional power supply of 1,000 MW from its power plant complex in Cirebon, West Java, from 2014. The new coal-fired plant would be an expansion of the company’s first power plant that has already provided up to 660 MW to the Bali and Java power grid since mid-2013. Construction works to develop the new facility are expected to take off in 2014.
