The World Bank has approved funding for the construction of the first bus rapid transit (BRT) system in Metro Manila. The Department of Transportation will implement the project works, which are expected to be completed by 2020. The project will cost $109.4 million, of which $64.6 million will be funded by the World Bank and the Clean Technology Fund. The remaining $44.8 million will be funded by the Philippines government.
