Vingroup has plans to produce smartphones together with VinFast automobiles under the brand of Vsmart. Vsmart mobile phones produced by Vingroup are expected to boost the domestic industry’s development in the future.
Vingroup established VinSmart Company with a capital of VND 3 trillion ($132 million). The newly formed company will operate in two major fields – manufacturing electronic equipment and conducting research, experiment and application of artificial intelligence, automation and new general materials.
The Vsmart mobile phone factory will be constructed at the VinFast automobile and electric motorbike manufacturing complex in the Dinh Vu-Cat Hai industrial park in the northern port city of Hai Phong.
