Vinci Construction’s subsidiary, Vinci Construction Grands Projets and Bessac (Soletanche Bachy), has secured a $69 million contract to design and build a 10 km treated water transmission pipeline in Ho Chi Minh City to improve drinking water supply. The project is being funded by the ADB. The Saigon Water Corporation will be the programme manager for the project. Vinci’s scope of work includes detailed project design; production of prefabricated reinforced concrete pipe sections with an outside diameter of 3 metres; pipe installation by means of pipe jacking; drilling of 16 shafts; and construction of 11 connections and five stubs for future connections of the pipelines with the existing network. The pipeline will run under the Saigon river and along Ho Chi Minh’s Metro Line 1.
