Vietnam’s central province of Khanh Hoa has announced plans to develop two solar power plants under the Provincial Electricity Development Plan 2011-15. The two plants are the Central Solar Power Plant and Tuan An Solar Power Plant with annual capacities of 50 MW and 10 MW. The Central Solar Power Plant will span an area of 70 hectares in Cam An Bac commune in Cam Lam district. The plant is connected to the national power system with a 110/22kV transformer and is scheduled to commence operations in 2018. The Tuan An Solar Power Plant will be developed in Cam Thinh Tay commune in Cam Ranh City. Construction of the plant is expected to be completed and operations are expected to commence in 2017. Further, Vietnam’s Central Highland province of Dak Lak has also announced plans to develop three solar power projects under the national electricity development plan. A final decision is yet to be taken.
