Several companies were recognised at the GeoInnovation Awards at the 2018 Esri Malaysia User Conference held in Kuala Lumpur.
Mass Rapid Transit [MRT] Corporation Sdn Bhd was recognised for the first-cloud based geographic information system (GIS) deployment in Asia to support the construction of the Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya MRT Line (SSP Line), comprising 35 stations (including 11 underground stations), that is scheduled to be completed by 2022.
Other prominent winners include Perbadanan Putrajaya, Public Works Department Sabah, U Mobile Sdn Bhd, and Iskandar Puteri City Council for their contribution in the field of GIS systems.
The GeoInnovation Awards recognise serial innovationists driving digital transformation in their respective industries. It celebrates the successes of local organisations that have creatively used geospatial technology and made valuable contributions to solve social, economic, business and environmental challenges.
