TPI Polene Power Public Company Limited secured six licences from local administrative offices to develop waste-to-energy projects, entailing an investment of THB 600 million. All projects are located in central and eastern Thailand, where the government has revised regulations to allow private firms to develop waste management for power generation, starting this year. In the first stage of development, the designated locations may receive combined waste of 3,000 tonnes per day which will be converted into 1,400 tonnes of refuse-derived fuel. Commercial operations are expected to commence by the end of 2017.
