Thai telecom operator TOT is undertaking discussions with four foreign telecom operators to form a strategic partnership for its fixed line broadband service. Reportedly, two of the four foreign operators are from China, one is from Japan and one from Indonesia. With the involvement of strategic partners, TOT expects to gain a competitive edge in the fixed broadband market. Meanwhile, TOT and its subsidiary CAT Telecom are planning to merge some of their core businesses to form three new companies – the National Broadband Network, the Neutral Gateway Network and the Internet Data Centre.
