The Thailand government has approved 5.8 billion baht for providing subsidised public train and bus transportation services. Of the total amount, 3.5 billion baht has been approved for the State Railway of Thailand (SRT). The SRT will use a part of this budget to fund its 86 km long railway line from Klong Sip Kao to Kaeng-Kaeng Khoi in Nakhon Nayok. The project is expected to cost about 621 million baht. The government has allocated the rest of the budget, amounting to 2.3 billion baht, to the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority. The funds will be used to ply non-air-conditioned public buses in the country.
