The Thailand government plans to invest THB 309.61 billion in transportation infrastructure projects during 2018. Of the total investment, BHT 152.16 billion will be used for land transport, BHT 96.2 billion for the railways sector, THB 53.54 billion for air transport and THB 7.32 billion for marine transport.
Further, during 2017-21, about 103 projects worth THB 745.71 billion will be implemented under the transportation action plan for the development of the Eastern Economic Corridor. Based on the plan, U-Tapao airport will be upgraded to international standards with a capacity for 60 million passengers.
