Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), the national carrier of Thailand, won awards in two categories at the 23rd Annual Travel Trade Gazette, Asia (TTG) Travel Award (October 2012), held in Bangkok. The two awards were: Best South-East Asian Airline and Best Airline Business Class. TTG Travel Awards recognises and honours the finest luminaries in Asia-Pacific’s travel industry that have consistently shown strong commitment towards service excellence. Awards were presented in the following categories: Travel Agents, Outstanding Achievements, Best Airlines, and Best Hotels. The winners were selected based on the votes of industry professionals.

Meanwhile, AirAsia, a Malaysia-based low-cost carrier that serves 80 destinations across 20 countries, with affiliates in Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Japan, won the Best Asian Low-Cost Carrier award at the ceremony. The airline retained its top spot for the sixth time, with the preceding accolade received in 2011. This award from TTG is only one of the many that the airline has received in 2012.
