Sembcorp Industries Limited has signed a 25-year contract to install, own and operate a 6.2 MWp rooftop solar project in Singapore. The solar panels will be deployed at two facilities of the company. One of them will host Singapore’s largest solar installation on a single roof with a capacity of over 4.7 MWp. The solar arrays will provide power for the customer’s on-site needs, with excess electricity to be supplied to the grid. Besides, Sembcorp has announced its partnership with Singapore’s Energy Market Authority (EMA) to pilot the use of energy storage systems. Currently, the company is participating in the pilot programme, called ACCelerating Energy Storage for Singapore (ACCESS).
