Malaysia’s Alliance Islamic Bank Berhad (AIS) has promoted Rizal IL-Ehzan Fadil Azim to the position of CEO. Azim succeeds Fozia Amanulla, who has now been appointed as AIS’s chief business development officer. Azim has over 22 years of experience in business advisory, banking and finance, including in Islamic banking. He joined AIS in November 2012 as senior vice president (strategy and business performance) and was appointed as its deputy CEO in 2016. Prior to joining AIS, Azim worked at various organisations including Hong Leong Islamic Bank, EONCAP Islamic Bank, the Boston Consulting Group and Bank Negara. He holds a Bachelor of Science (honours) degree from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom.
