The Phuong Nam Science and Technology Institute (PNSTI) has signed an MoU with Canada-based MorFund Financial Incorporated (MorFund) to develop an HSR line in Vietnam on a PPP basis and invest $5 billion in the project. Construction is expected to commence by the end of 2018 and be completed by 2024.
The line will span 139 km from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho via Long An, Tien Giang and Vinh Long. The trains will travel at a maximum speed of 200 km per hour, and reduce the end-to-end journey time from 210 minutes to 40 minutes.
