Petronas Nasional Bhd (Petronas) has confirmed a gas discovery in Block SK438’s Kulintang-1 wildcat exploration well, located 230 km off the coast of Miri, Sarawak. The Kulintang-1 well has been successfully drilled to a total depth of 2,238 m and gas has been discovered in the Oligocene to Middle Miocene sandstone lakes, which had not previously been completely analysed.
PTTEP HK Offshore Limited is the main shareholder of Block SK438 with 80 per cent share and Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd owns the remaining 20 per cent.
