State-owned port operator Pelindo II has signed a concession agreement with the Ministry of Transportation, Indonesia, to implement the Kijing port project. It has been granted a 69-year concession period for the port, which will cover an area of 68.5 hectares and require investment to the tune of Rp 14.45 trillion. The port will be constructed in three phases, beginning with the construction of a multi-purpose terminal in the first phase. The terminal will be able to accommodate 500,000 TEUs of containers. The first phase is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
