A new passenger terminal at Achmad Yani airport in Semarang has been opened for public use. It has been constructed at a cost of Rp 2.2 trillion. The new terminal is spread across an area of 58,652 square metres and is almost nine times the size of the older terminal. It has enhanced the passenger handling capacity of the airport from 2,200 passengers per day to 19,000 per day.

The apron of the new terminal is 61.33 square metres with a 72.55 square metre taxiway that can accommodate thirteen narrow-bodied aircraft or a configuration of 10 narrow-bodied aircraft and two wide-bodied aircraft. The runway at the airport has also been expanded from 2,560 metres to 3,000 metres.
