The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand is planning a regulatory revamp under which the provision of telecom and broadcasting services will be governed by a unified licensing regime. According to NBTC, if the proposed revamp does not take place by 2018, an ambiguity would arise in defining telecom and broadcasting services, thus making governance more difficult for policymakers.
