Maxis Telecom has appointed Nasution Mohamed as Joint Chief Operating Officer of the company. This development took place after Johan Dennelind, the Chief executive officer (CEO)-designate, communicated his inability to take up the role, citing personal issues. Mohamed will be responsible for the company’s overall performance until the board selects a new CEO.
Mohamed has been Executive Vice-President at Maxis Communications since January 2011 and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) since April 2011. Prior to this appointment, he was CEO and Managing Director at Penerbangan Malaysia Berhad since 2005. Moreover, he worked as Senior General Manager of the Finance Division of UDA Holdings Berhad since 2003. In the past, he held various senior positions at KPMG, Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Berhad, and Amanah Merchant Bank Berhad.
Mohamed is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of New South Wales.
