Mahidol University International College (MUIC) won the Thailand Energy Awards in the Energy Conservation in Building Control category. MUIC underwent assessment, interview and site visit and had to compete with 20 other finalists. MUIC has been cited for its outstanding energy efficiency leading to a reduction in global warming.
The contest was sponsored by the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Energy Efficiency under the Ministry of Energy. The contest was divided into five sectors, namely, renewable energy, energy conservation, personnel energy, creative energy and the promotion of energy conservation and renewable energy.
