Myanmar Post and Telecommunications (MPT) has announced that its LTE-A network is now available in every state and region of the country, following the launch of the service in Hakha (Chin State) and Kyaiktiyo (Mon State). Earlier, MPT demonstrated tri-band carrier aggregation (3C) and VoLTE technology in Yangon. Moreover, the operator doubled the downlink transmission speeds available over its LTE-A network from 150 Mbps to 300 Mbps, via an increase in bandwidth. It had announced upgrades to its LTE-A 4×4 multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) network, enabling speeds of up to 300 Mbps on compatible devices. Going forward, the firm aims to roll out its high-speed 4G services to 280 townships nationwide by the end of 2018.
