In 2018, the Ministry of Housing and Public Works will prioritise infrastructure building in four sectors, namely, transportation, food supply, waste management and housing. It plans to obtain Rp 106.9 trillion from the proposed 2018 budget of which Rp 41.3 trillion will be allocated to building new roads and bridges as well as maintaining existing ones, while Rp 37.3 trillion will be earmarked for the construction of dams and irrigation networks. Further, Rp 15.9 trillion will be spent on wastewater treatment and clean water management, while the rest will be used to develop affordable housing.
