The Ministry of Transportation plans to construct a new airport in Kediri, East Java, by the end of 2018. Under the first phase, the airport runway will span 2,400 metres. However, it will be extended to 3,200 metres in the subsequent phases. The total land required for the airport is 457 hectares. It is expected to entail a total investment of Rp 5 trillion.
