Malaysia to develop nuclear power plant by 2030

The Malaysia Nuclear Power Corporation (MNPC) has announced plans to develop a nuclear power plant by 2030 to address the high power consumption needs in the country. Malaysia currently generates power from coal (52 per cent), gas (45 per cent) and hydro (3 per cent). MNPC will work with the International Atomic Energy Agency to set up the plant.
