The state government of Terengganu has announced plans to deploy nine electric buses on myBAS service in Kuala Terengganu as part of the Land Public Transport Commission’s SBST programme. This initiative will make it the first city in Malaysia to deploy electric buses.
The myBAS service will cover seven trunk routes and one feeder route. A total of 30 new buses will be deployed. It is planned to be rolled out in three phases. Commercial operations are scheduled to begin in Phase I in the second quarter of 2018.
