The Indonesian government plans to make three airport trains operational by the end of 2018. These trains will operate in three cities, namely, Padang in West Sumatra, Palembang in South Sumatra and Surakarta in Central Java. The government plans to make the airport trains in Padang and Palembang operational by May 2018, and the one in Surakarta by November 2018. Currently, the construction work for all three projects is in progress.
