Hyundai Engineering and Hyundai Engineering and Construction (Hyundai E&C) have jointly secured a $890 million contract to construct a power plant in Malaysia from Edra Global Energy Berhad to build a 2,242 MW combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant in Alor Gajah, Malacca. Hyundai Engineering has an 85 per cent share in the deal, while its partner Hyundai E&C will hold the remaining 15 per cent. Once completed, it will be the largest CCGT power plant in Southeast Asia.

Edra Global Energy Berhad is Malaysia’s second largest IPP that was acquired by the China General Nuclear Power Corporation in 2015.
