Globe Telecom was recognised as the Telecom Service Provider of the Year for 2016 at the recently held Asia Pacific ICT awards, organised by Frost & Sullivan. The recognition comes as the operator delivered an impressive business performance in the previous year. This is the second consecutive year that Globe has received this recognition.

Frost & Sullivan’s Best Practices Program recognises companies in a variety of regional and global markets that have maintained consistently high standards in delivering customer value, and demonstrated outstanding performance in terms of initiatives that can improve the way ICT is delivered through areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development.

In 2015, Globe delivered a stellar performance, surpassing its previous year’s performance, with a significant hike in service revenues, EBITDA, and earnings. Even in the face of intense industry competition, the company registered broad-based data-driven growth across its key services.

The contenders for the Frost & Sullivan Asia-Pacific ICT Awards were evaluated on a variety of actual market performance indicators, which include revenue growth, market share and growth in market share, leadership in product innovation, breadth of products and solutions, major customer acquisitions, and business and market strategy, amongst other category-specific criteria.

During the same ceremony, Telecom CEO of the Year award was given to Alex J. Sinaga, President Director of PT Telkom Indonesia (Telkom). Besides, Telkomsel, a subsidiary of Telkom, was awarded the Mobile Service of the Year Service award.

A team of 30 leading Frost & Sullivan analysts and consultants based in the Asia-Pacific region were involved in the shortlisting, evaluation and research process. The findings of the detailed examination were then presented to a panel of independent judges comprising influential personalities, decision makers and thought leaders in Asia-Pacific’s ICT industry in deciding the recipients in each award category.
