The Philippines-based telecom operator Globe Telecom has completed the country’s first commercial deployment of the  LTE-A four-component carrier spectrum aggregation technology using the 2600 MHz band. The operator has deployed the technology at 110 locations including Metro Manila, Makati, and certain areas in Quezon City, Marikina, Antipolo and San Mateo. This move will double the company’s LTE capacity and enhance mobile broadband speeds by up to 400 Mbps. Going ahead, Globe Telecom plans to deploy the technology at more than 500 sites in the country.
