EEC Policy Committee approves four infrastructure projects worth THB 432.85 billion

The Eastern Economic Corridor [EEC] Policy Committee has approved four infrastructure projects worth THB 432.85 billion. These are the U-tapao aviation city worth THB 290 billion, a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) centre worth THB 10.59 billion, the third phase of the Laem Chabang seaport worth THB 84.36 billion and the third phase of the Map Ta Phut seaport worth THB 47.9 billion.

As part of the U-tapao aviation city project, a third terminal, a commercial gateway, the second phase of an MRO, a cargo village or free trade zone as well as a human resource training centre will be developed.  The project is expected to enhance the annual passenger handling capacity of the airport to 60 million and is targeted to be completed within five years from the start of construction.
