DOTC has awarded a six-month interim maintenance contract for the metro rail transit 3 (MRT-3) line to the JV of the Philippines Trams Rail Management and Services Corporation and the Commbuilders and Technology Philippines Corporation. The JV’s offer for the monthly maintenance cost was the lowest at $1.15 million. Under the contract, the JV will supply fast moving spare parts at the MRT-3 depot stockroom; ensure the continued operation of the automatic fare collection system and signalling systems; and upgrade or install new systems, without any additional costs to the government, or any impact on current train fares.
