The Philippines Department of Transportation (DOTr) has deployed the first batch of repaired light rail vehicles (LRVs) supplied by China-based CRRC Dalian Company Limited on MRT-3 in Manila. The repaired LRVs will be deployed for 150 hours during off-peak hours and on weekends for initial testing. The trains were supplied under an $87 million contract in 2016 but had to be repaired due to glitches in power supply, incompatibility with the signalling system, and weight issues. CRRC Dalian is bearing the repair costs.
