Temasek Holdings has announced the appointment of Chia Song Hwee as Head of the Investment Group. He succeeds Tan Chong Lee who will now head the Portfolio and Strategy Group at Temasek.
Chia joined the company in October 2011. Previously, he was Chief Operating Officer of GLOBALFOUNDRIES that is now integrated with Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing. Before the integration, Song Hwee was Director of the board, as well as President and chief executive officer of Chartered from 2002 to 2009. After joining Chartered in 1996, Chia held various senior management positions in finance, strategic development, technology alliances, and legal areas. Song Hwee is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) with the Australian Society of CPAs. He holds a bachelor of business (accountancy) degree from Edith Cowan University, Australia.
