The Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Government of Laos, is working on a bidding process for consultants and contractors for the Laos-Thailand railway extension project. The extended line will be laid over a distance of 7.5 km and will link the Thanalaeng railway station in Hadxaifong district to Khamsavat village in the inner Saysettha district. Once construction begins, the project will take about two years to complete.
