The 256 MW Banpong power plant owned by Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO) commenced operations in October 2017. The plant is located in Ratchaburi province and consists of two units with gross electricity output of 256 MW. Each unit has a total installed capacity of 128 MW, comprising two gas turbines producing 44 MW each and a steam turbine with a capacity of 40 MW. The power plant will sell 180 MW of output to EGCO under a 25-year PPA for small power plants. The remaining output and steam from the power generating process will be sold to industrial users.
