Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AoT) has decided to construct a new terminal at the Don Mueang International Airport. The proposed new terminal is part of a THB 34 billion plan to expand Don Mueang airport by 2025. At present, the airport has two terminals, Terminal 1 and 2, which serve international and domestic passengers respectively. The new terminal, Terminal 3, will be designed within 10 months and is expected to be completed within two years from the commencement of construction. Part of the new terminal will also be connected to the Red Line network of the State Railway of Thailand, which is currently under construction, and the planned HSR line connecting Don Mueang, Suvarnabhumi and U-Tapao airports in Rayong.

In addition to the new terminal, AoT also plans to construct a new building beside Terminal 1’s parking lot to be used for group check-ins. It is expected to cost THB 200 million.
