Philippines conglomerate Alliance Global Group has stated that it has submitted an unsolicited proposal to the government to build Skytrain, a monorail that will link its township Uptown Bonifacio development in Taguig City to a MRT station in Makati City. The MRT-3 is one of the country’s busiest train lines that carries around half a million passengers daily. The railway runs along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue, the country’s main thoroughfare. Once approved, the conglomerate has stated that it will complete the monorail in three years. The monorail can ferry up to 0.1 million passengers and reduce travel time to five minutes. Further, in order to facilitate its entry into infrastructure, the Alliance Global Group created INFRACORP Development, a new company to handle the conglomerate’s private-public partnership (PPP) projects.
