Thailand-based operator Advanced Info Service (AIS) has selected Qualcomm Technologies to augment its existing LTE-A network. AIS plans to invest around 40 billion baht in its ongoing deployment of LTE-A technology. The network will be deployed using tri-band carrier aggregation technology for downlink transmissions and dual-band carrier aggregation technology for uplink transmissions.
