ADB has decided to provide a $160 million loan for renewable energy projects in Indonesia. Of the loan amount, $40 million will be used for Indonesia’s first utility-scale PV plants while the remaining amount will be used for a 72 MW wind power plant in South Sulawesi. Both the projects will be developed by Vena Energy, a Singapore-based renewable energy power producer. In total, the two projects will add 114 MW to Indonesia’s electricity grid, as the country is working towards the target of generating 23 per cent of its energy mix from renewable energy by 2025.
