ADB has signed a $99.4 million loan agreement with the Thailand government. The project is ADB’s first sovereign lending to Thailand with a special financing arrangement. The loan amount will be used for the upgradation of highways and the improvement of road safety in the north-eastern part of the country. As part of the project, 125 km of highways will be upgraded. The project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2022.
