Twenty-five airports were recognised for their contribution to the growth and development of the Singapore air transport in 2017 at the 13th annual Changi Airline Awards 2018. A total of 25 awards were presented to the airlines, that contributed most significantly to Changi’s air traffic during the last year. The awards were presented in the following categories – Top Airlines & Airline Groups by Passenger Carriage and Cargo Carriage, Top Airlines by Absolute Passenger Growth and Absolute Cargo Growth, Best Airline Marketing, and Partner of the Year.

The top five airlines and airline groups in the passenger carriage category were the Singapore Airlines Group, the Jetstar Group, the AirAsia Group, Cathay Pacific Airways and the Lion Group. The award for the highest cargo volume was awarded to the Singapore Airlines Group, followed by Cathay Pacific Airways, FedEx Express, China Airlines and EVA Air.

Singapore Airlines bagged the Partner of the Year award for its consistent efforts to enhance Singapore’s global air hub status and network connectivity. This included the airline’s recent delivery of the Boeing aircraft with its new regional cabin products, as well as the new A380 aircraft fitted with state-of-the-art cabin products. Singapore Airlines has also expanded its route network to include links to Canberra, Dusseldorf, Stockholm and Wellington. It also launched daily non-stop services to San Francisco.
